NHS Perspective

Let's get this straight, so the absolutists are dealt with from the start; I think the NHS is a great idea. But the way it is run is typical of an uncontrolled bureaucracy; it is dysfunctional and too often not capable of fulfilling its primary role.

A graphic example of this was of course, the recent decision to send elderly patients, untested, to care homes (whilst simultaneously diverting PPE away from said homes). There is no way to view this as anything other than completely crazy.

Prior to 1948, more was done as a collective effort at local level, with well intentioned doctors. What often was the outcome was that local hospital you may dimly remember. The one that was closed by the bureaucrats to 'centralise' 'healthcare provision' in 'supercentres' that would be better able to provide a full range of services. Plus save money.

Well, that hospital was probably paid for by local subscription, by people keen to ensure they had medical assistance locally. And the NHS gladly received it, without paying anything for it, when the NHS was set up. Seemed a good deal at the time, bearing in mind the state would now provide and cover the costs.

Up until they don't. Then the hospital gets sold and the proceeds, for no discernible reason, went into the NHS coffers. Not back to the local community, who had more claim to the title.

Like many other successful projects of the Left, such as destroying education (except for an elite) and increasing the power of the bodies surrounding and controlling elected politicians, the NHS now has an almost perfect system, within the parameters of state control.

Set up specifically to treat sick people and make them well, hospitals have transmogrified into industrial warehouses. Naturally, some medical staff do stick to some of the traditional tenets, but it soon gets beaten out of them (or should they highlight medical negligence, with dismissal).

Under the auspices of a managerial class, hospitals are now concerned with output while talking about outcomes. Once a patient came into a hospital and the objective was to discern what ails them, to take them through restorative medical treatment, whether drug treatment or surgical, and once satisfied to allow them to return home.

Now the 'customer' is a number, a nuisance. Something to get out of the system as soon as possible - a successful outcome, for the system. A single discipline will consider the subject, for example, if a GP refers a patient believing the cause to be cancer, you go to oncology. If the condition is not cancer, they will not be passed on until every possible test has been done to prove cancer.

This may be detrimental to health of the 'customer' but it is clean for the system. Treatment, once decided on, will be monitored for cost control and the pressure is on the 'free up the bed'. Discharge will be effected as soon as possible and without reference to the suitability to the 'customer'.

An elderly person may be given the news that they can go home with great enthusiasm and not a little hurry up, at 2am on a Friday, when they have no money. Hospitals are keen to get people out before the weekend, when there will not be enough staff on to cope. Once again, all thought is on the effects on the system.

Once gone, a green tick is applied to the chart and the system clocks up another success. Now the bed is free for the next person who relapsed through having been discharged too early. There is no penalty for that and, while being an annoyance to the system, it still keeps it clean. (What do you mean, what about the patient?)

Hospitals are not about healthcare any more, they are about getting people through the system as quickly as possible. We are to be grateful they exist. But they are supposed to exist to treat the sick, that is their raison d'etre. But what is wrong with you when you come into contact is no longer, really, of interest.

This is just a snippet to provoke thought on the subject, because it is extensive and constantly feeds bad practice and wrongly focussed effort. This bureaucratic maladministration is causing so much harm and is way beneath the talents and abilities of the British people.

Consider how Grenfell happened and the pathetic response to it. Watch the reality programme about the ambulance service and have the sympathy for the pressure they are under evaporate, when having just heard they now have no ambulances available, but have sent two ambulances to a suspected heart attack, because that is 'protocol'.

The NHS is a great idea, but you know, instinctively, that no private company could survive operating as it does. It doesn't need to be privatised, it just needs to be run properly.

Noble BBC And Coronavirus

Hands up if you think the BBC has done what it sees as it's core responsibility, in a situation like Covid 19 is presenting and that is, to spread as much panic as humanly possible. I don't think they've missed any opportunity, failed to exaggerate and push the narrative.

It is a fabulous organisation, with guaranteed funding, stuffed only with Left ideological staff and certain of it's righteousness and just how benign it's instructions to the population are.

They say they have to pay their senior management huge salaries, to attract the best talent. My question would be, when do you intend to start recruiting talent?

The Lessons Of History And Corbyn

It comes up from time to time, that Corbyn wants to turn Britain into a version of Venezuela. Hell, I've said it myself and with no understanding of economics (or reality) the current Far Left cabal masquerading as the Labour Party. no doubt could bring such a situation about in short order.

But something else struck me as I started re-reading Richard J Evans stupendous and (settle in) stupendously long book 'The Third Reich At War'. This was just how stupid, petty and childish the leadership of the Nazi Party was, jockeying for power and privilege, taking fine houses and other wealth for themselves, whilst planning inhuman actions.

Now, we have no current knowledge of warlike adventures planned by the Corbyn gang, but they certainly fit the mould as self-important, individually incompetent, desperate and devious clowns on the make. The way they suppress internal dissent, the ideology of violence, the lies and the deceit - no real interest in actual politics.

And I'm sure Momentum and its like can summon up their brownshirts in a blink, should some extra political muscle be called for. I fear these people who seem like fools may in fact be very dangerous fools.

And there are too many openings in the way our society acts and thinks, due to long term influence of the Left in schools, all public services and through the deployment of Political Correctness, for this authoritarian ambition to succeed. Take for instance Thames Valley Police. If you want to join they ask if you belong to any Right Wing parties. Why Right Wing specifically? Because the current feeling is that they are the problem.

Name the last violent action by a Right Wing group. You can't. (You may be led to suggest that the shooting of Jo Cox was such an event; it wasn't. The perpetrator was a nutcase, who read Far Right literature amongst other things. He didn't belong to a group, nor received instruction).

The Left however are endlessly involved in violence; every 'march' where windows are smashed, property burnt, heavy objects thrown off roofs onto police below. Every event that you can think of that erupted into violence had its origins in Left activism and agitation.

Except I guess, the Countryside March which was entirely peaceful, but so massive that Tony Blair was deeply shocked, so he had them attacked by the police and then blamed the marchers for the violence. Yeah, and David Kelly committed suicide.

And There It Is

News in the Telegraph today that government advisors think that telling schoolchildren about drugs might be having no effect, or worse actively doing harm, by encouraging drug use albeit inadvertently.

I think this falls in the 'no sh*t Sherlock' category of revelation. Only something closely connected with government could find this a surprise, or take so long to notice what everyone else could have predicted and then realised in practice.

Still, they don't seem to suggest the harm was deliberate, so some pretty obvious stuff evades them yet. If the Left were not absolutely positive that aggressively pushing homosexuals to 'fight for their rights', by insisting that they can have children etc just like anyone else, and promoting paedophilia, particularly by sex 'education' in schools and ever lower age of consent, they wouldn't have bothered to push it.

The nuclear family is the bedrock of a stable and successful society. A stable and successful society is of no use to someone who can only achieve power through creating chaos (no one would vote in Stalin by choice). And the best way to destroy a family, to bring a feeling of utter hopelessness to these people, is to corrupt their children.

The lack of action to protect children by the police and the social services seen in recently exposed scandals, must have delighted the Left beyond measure. Here are key organs of state, with clear legal responsibilities who, following Leftie doctrine rather than the law, have allowed the harm to take place.

We need to be fighting back. A good place to start would be with investigations, with prosecutions as appropriate (meaning they must happen where appropriate, not that it is never appropriate to hold a politician to account), into the historic connections between the Left and paedophilia. Then, with their eyes opened perhaps the general public will see how they have been manipulated and duped.

Greater Germany

When we hear of the latest attempt by the Greek people, through electing a party that said it would do what they wanted, to have large pensions, paid early, without having to actually work, or pay tax, the replies don't come from the EU. Yet is it not a Euro and therefore an EU problem?

Well obviously, but when a crisis of this magnitude comes up, some urgent action is required and the old façade slips. Hence the other side of the argument comes, pretty much exclusively from Angela Merkel. Now, it has long been held that Germany are the EU's bankers, so maybe they should have a strong say over what happens in the EU, financially.

But it is clearly more than that isn't it. The Germans are calling the shots for the whole shooting match (oops, unfortunate). France, the great administrators as they alone exclaim, have slipped a little in the prestige stakes, having elected an extra special idiot to run the country. (In fact, the only reason France isn't in as much trouble as Greece or Italy say, is that as a founder member they got to channel funds to support their economy from the rest of 'Europe').

So what we have is Greater Germany, way beyond the dreams of the Kaiser or Hitler. Even, poor French loves, beyond Napoleon, now a distant memory.

I have just finished re-reading a 1973 book on WW1, by David Shermer. At the end, discussing the brave new world the victors planned to make, he points out the stupidity of the measures. We are used to understanding that the draconian nature of the terms of the Treaty of Versailles led to a justification for German anger and eventually, WW2.

But Shermer talks of the problems of ignoring nationalities and cultures, He mentioned a created Poland with many non-Poles within the new territory, the Balkan mess and several other problem areas. Translate that to today and we have the utter nonsense, pure bilge in fact, spouted by EU supporters about being European.

As if some common heritage existed. You can't have it both ways; either Europe has always been a homogenous region that just never thought of uniting under a single bureaucracy before, or it has been the scene of countless wars. Current history books (those without the helping hand of EU revisionists) seem to talk quite a lot about war. That then is the truth.

Lord help us, we have not long ago experienced the explosion of violence again in the Balkans. Something, incidentally the EU, despite all its claims couldn't even begin to find a way to deal with.
Which leaves us with the blindingly obvious conclusion that the EU is counter-factual inasmuch that it creates the problems it claims to be the solution for (hello? Ukraine) and that by ignoring nation states and self determination, it has lit yet another fuse.

But I do get that it created an enormous amount of wealth and power for a large number of politicians and that it was a backhanded way of creating a totalitarian state to govern in perpetuity. Having seen how it ended for Hitler, Stalin, Lenin and all the others around the world, there was no point pursuing the violent revolution, or awaiting an uprising of the people.

There is no European demos and there is no need for an EU. In fact it is anti-democratic, anti-capitalist, old fashioned and irrelevant in the globalised world of today. But it is the Thousand Year Reich so it is here to stay. Unless someone with courage says, no. Again. Perhaps that should be Britain's role in Europe. Again.

Are You Not Fed Up With Being Lied to Yet?

It is so depressing and it goes on and on. But then, that is the point of propaganda, particularly in support of anti-democratic ideas. You only need to con people, of course, when the majority would otherwise not put up with you and your antics.

Last night on BBC Look East there was an article about the referendum and the prospect of the UK leaving the EU. A video link to some supporter of the EU was shown and she was asked to list some reasons why it would be dangerous to leave. How this constituted 'news' or met legal obligations regarding balance and lack of bias I have no idea.

But naturally, it is a necessary response when people are starting to realise that our companies sell to people, not political ideas. So, the prospect of some Germans saying they won't buy our cheese, for instance, because we leave a polity of which their country (more accurately, region of the EU) is a controlling force, is ludicrous.

The politicians could, if they wanted, impose tariffs on UK products but this would get a similar response from us and guess what, the EU needs our trade more than we need them. Apparently, there are other countries in the world! Imagine.

The silly Jilly on the telly said that EasyJet wouldn't exist if it were not for the EU. This, naturally enough coming from an EU supporter is a straightforward lie. But EasyJet make your flights cheaper and so you love it, hence allying the EU to it. But airlines such as this exist because of international agreements that the EU, as our supreme government, introduce.

And that brings up a powerful point that the EU propagandist on the telly strangely didn't. These international bodies, making most of the world wide agreements these days bring together the countries of the world to reach these agreements.

As Britain is no longer a country, but rather an EU region, we have an influence level of one twenty eighth of one vote in these negotiations. Norway, trading with the EU but not a part of it has a direct influence. As does Papua New Guinea if they want it. But not Britain.

We can talk all kinds of common sense at the EU meeting before the World meeting the EU will attend, but the points raised will be those that suit France and Germany (but mainly France), it being their club after all.

Are you not fed up yet with all this Leftie cant? How much can you take? Being told incessantly what to do and even what you are allowed to think. In what way is this part of the great tradition of common law, where the people own the law not the state, that we developed over centuries and gave to the world? When did a politician last do something for the good of the country rather than to gain power or for their own gain in other ways (apart from Gove in education, but that was soon stopped).

What would be wrong with allowing people more say over their own government, being allowed to keep more of their own money and spending it how they want, rather than the state confiscating it and handing back what they deem appropriate (with quite a lot going 'missing' along the way)?

We already have a police force that generally ignores real crime and spends its time enforcing the petty regulations of its masters in politics. We already have a population cowed into believing there are things you cannot say. A government that we can't elect and that rules us absolutely. But, by the tips of our fingernails there remains enough of the old world that we can break free of the stranglehold, the dead hand of 'Europe' around our necks.

The Dangers In Modern Politics

A number of problems with modern politics and politicians are plain to see; they only talk among themselves creating a bubble within which they exist, they all cleave to the centre ground and they lack dynamism. But for me, the underlying issues that drive them are the real problem.

Why do they all want to be centre oriented? Because being conservative, middle of the road is the least offensive position, gets the least objection. And modern politicians are looking for a magic formula to get elected and stay in power forever. There, already we have two dangerous problems coming together.

This means dynamic politicians need to be stifled and not allowed to 'rock the boat'. Now, some would point out that surely Blair was not of the staid mould, surely he was dynamic? But that is to confuse his personal greed and ambition for political machinations with political dynamism.

What in policy terms would you say Blair achieved? He banned hunting with dogs. And er, nothing else. Sure, he started a war with Iraq but that wasn't policy or for any other reason than he thought it would bring glory for his statesmanship. In fact of course, the Americans, on whom he was relying to do all the actual fighting and dying, had also entered the fray without any real clue.

Our politicians are quite keen to avoid any investigation into what they actually do, now that the EU pretty much runs everything (see the food safety scare currently running). The base level corruption of our politicians, evidenced by their expenses claims and much else, is due to the lack of oversight, lack of any real role and lack of effective leadership. Which is linked to that dynamism thing.

For me though there is a bigger problem with what is already a scandalous waste in politics and that is what this indolence allows to happen. Quietly, whilst no one in power can be bothered to do a job, certainly not properly, the Left are creeping through their agenda.

Morons who claim at various times to hold high office, put the weight of government and taxpayers money behind things solely designed to undermine the country; homosexual issues, racial, welfare and criminal issues, all of which result from a loss of moral certainty. And as a prize to show how powerful they are, to show the immense stupidity of politicians and to set their lust for corruption in train, the Left have promulgated the climate change scam.

Utterly unbelievable and easily proven wrong headed, the Left use it as a cipher for their power over politics. If they can get everyone to say that a clearly naked man is wearing a fine set of clothes then they truly have a grasp on power.

When our courts are prepared to put feral, serial thugs in to prison for taking another life and rate that life as worth two years loss of liberty, then the Left are surely succeeding. One day these very violent people will realise that the police do not see their job as protecting the public any more and will range at will across the country. The recent riots give a small foretaste of what we can expect.

At this point the Left will act decisively. They will seize power in the name of saving the country. They will use armed force to suppress the mayhem and martial law will be declared. Once they have achieved this, they will never let go. We will have a communist, totalitarian regime that essentially we invited by our indolence.

The curse of it is that all we need to break the chain leading to this outcome is a dynamic leader. Someone who will just say the things we need to do and then do them. A man (or woman) who will support the NHS whistleblowers and imprison those who did harm. More than that, someone who thinks the mass killing that has taken place is actually important, because it isn't being treated as such currently.

Someone who will say the EU and 'renewables' are both just costly scams and end our subservience to both. Someone who says that the country is broke and cut back government spending, which can easily be done by deleting the bits that don't actually do anything; Quango's, equality and diversity wallahs and great swathes of bureaucracy that merely gets in each others way (like the monolithic MoD that only serves to make costly mistakes and let the front line troops down).

It isn't difficult, but it isn't the work of a moment, though by God it would fundamentally transform the UK into a world leader again, not least in ideas. And saving us from the anarchy and destructiion long dreamed of by the Left would be a blessing itself. It is always difficult however to understand what you have saved yourself from. When we really do lock up a dangerous murderer, we can never know who remains alive as a result, who would otherwise have been killed.

Can you imagine a Britain where the police are polite and helpful, where they take the side of the law abiding against criminals and where they don't talk of 'preferable outcomes' and 'moral equality'?

The 'Muggers Club'

We know that Government has always been seen as a fathomless soft touch. Recently though, this has not only been refined into an art form, it has become relentless and unbridled. PFI is slightly different inasmuch that a very probably insane Chancellor agreed the concept with barely-able-to-believe their luck companies, who stood to make fortunes. Brown decided to give them huge amounts of money to build hospitals, as long as he could hide the debt 'off the books'.

In America a company tried a similar trick. You may have heard of them, Enron. Unfortunately the man behind the scheme here hasn't been imprisoned, but then as we will see, people 'at the top' don't pay for their crimes.

People, including me often refer to the recent parliamentary scandal as having involved MP's 'fiddling' their expenses. This is a convenient use of words for the MP's as another, more legally accurate word is fraud. The latter though tends to suggest court cases and imprisonment, whilst the former perhaps a rap on the knuckles. And on the whole, how were our fraudulent MP's dealt with?

Today of course, we are absorbed in the truly shocking actions of the saintly NHS. It is ironic, is it not, that the Left, prime squealers as they were at any criticism of this institution who have presided over its  total annihilation by communism's most ardent adherents.

Tony Blair worked hard to incorporate just such people into any and every system he could, either by installation (giving them posts) or corruption (rewarding compliant behaviour) of current post holders. In his case, it wasn't ideological zeal, Blair never had any time for politics, it was just his own ego and lust for power, plus the need to feed the avarice of his 'socialist' wife.

The upshot though, is that he created a perfect storm. He inculcated a creed of greed, but not only in capitalists but in the communists too. (Communists don't just love power, they also realise that money is power and also makes life very tolerable). So, all those people who took state jobs 'because they are dedicated to serving the people' in their words, but known to everyone as incapable of surviving in the real world, suddenly found that their uselessness was overlooked. And their pay shot up.

No longer were public sector employees on low salaries but with decent pensions, with the ability to retire early. Now they had all of that plus better than private sector pay, plus the bosses were never held to be accountable (else someone might require the same of the Prime Minister!)

And private company bosses knew the floodgates were open. Not only could they demand and get, ridiculous pay packages but they could justify them by chasing government 'work' that would just keep giving. The NHS IT project for instance. Many times it was pointed out that it wasn't working, that it was taking a very long time to achieve nothing. The 'muggers club' was in action.

When the project was completed on time and to budget, the dream would be over, so the consultancies just kept working on getting it right, But strangely never did get there. Eventually, the pressure on politicians became unavoidable and the companies involved in NPfIT were told to deliver, basically, put up or shut up. So one by one they pulled out. Not even ashamed by possible accusations that they had been deliberately milking the public purse. Because those accusations were never made by the government.

Why not? I don't know. But consider this angle on the scandal of NHS care. The Francis report details people not fed, not given water, left in soiled bedsheets for days. Under-staffing is pointed to, but that doesn't quite cut it does it. It might mean that things take much longer than they should, but not the scale of what we have heard. That takes an absence of care.

But here is the point no-one seems to be making. Relatives knew what was going on and sometimes even pitched in to help. But why did their complaints register no response? Because the state machine is very good at hiding from its responsibilities. There is no mechanism that they fear to ensure justice. If you have a dispute with  a company, sure they can make life hard, but usually they either fear the law or bad publicity.

The state however fears nothing. I was pursued for fours years (four years!) by HMRC for a sum of money I didn't owe. Why couldn't we get to the bottom of it? Because at the outset, surprised to owe the money, I asked where the debt had been incurred. For four years they refused to answer, but kept up a steady stream of threats including using their power to act as judge, jury and executioner to enter my house and seize property.

My son, completed a speed aware course (at great cost) to avoid a fine and penalty points. They later said he hadn't completed the online element and issued the penalty points anyway and also the fine, now increased by half again because 'he hadn't paid it on time!' Complaining merely brought the usual round of 'another department deals with that' and eventually, 'no one made a mistake'.

The state and its functionaries have become impossible to fight. And they know it. This whole culture of no accountability (and Cameron can complain about no doctors or nurses struck off, but politicians are so guarded as well) is at the root of the problem. You start to cure the malaise by making them accountable.

What senior public figures have we seen dealt with recently? Director of social services for Haringey, Shoesmith, who was a scapegoat to take the heat off Ed Balls, deserving of the sack even though she was. But even then she was given an enormous pay off. She now complains of being unemployable. Yes, well that would be because in the real world, incompetence is a bit of a barrier to getting a job.

And the senior police officer imprisoned for talking to the press. Her offence was 'misconduct in a public office' and she received 15 months, but would have been 3 years if it hadn't been for her pending adoption of a child(?) How many politicians have been guilty of this offence, not least over their expenses fraud? Certainly Ed Balls and Yvette Cooper.

But the policewoman was that despicable outcast of a character, the one thing the state sector cannot abide and will not tolerate, a whistleblower. There was no substantive proof that she asked for money, but even so what she did wasn't right. But how else do you get public sector people, politicians and all, to do their job properly? Definitely not by using the proper channels of complaint. We all know the ignore gene is present in any state employed boss.

Remember Andrew Wakefield? He was the doctor struck off for suggesting a link between autism and the MMR jab. I have no idea if he was on to something or not, but my suspicion is raised by the level of the reaction by the state and its goons. Struck off! Marietta Higgs didn't get that and she destroyed families and abused children! Blair went berserk, almost insisting his son had had the jab. But in all reality, probably hadn't. So no truth in Wakefield's assertion then.

Compare it with the reaction to the 'dodgy dossier' claim by Andrew Gilligan. Alistair Campbell went off the deep end denouncing the man endlessly and getting several people removed from their jobs. Only for us to find that Gilligan had been right and the famous liar, Campbell was, well, er, lying. And the ramifications for Campbell? Well of course, none.

The Left drives all of this naturally, being the parties of the big state. They want more state control, the removal of your wealth, so the state can decide who deserves what, whilst enriching themselves, introducing ever greater corruption and wasting money like water. They get you to believe the most stupid things, like global warming. There is no evidence Man is having any real affect on climate and they know it, but your acquiescence allows them to take ever greater power and ever more money.

The communists refer to people like this as useful idiots, because they implement outrageous calamities themselves, even though they suffer as a result. And the rich and powerful get richer and more powerful. But still claim to be communists - all in it together.

Left Spoiler Vote

The so called Gay Marriage vote has at least shown that a large number of Conservatives do actually believe in a strong, moral country. They have once again led rather than be led, supporting the majority for the good of all. The fads and fashions of the Left and the far Left who use these useful idiots, voting for 'gay marriage'  to upset our society, not cure any supposed ill.

I feel a little more comfortable about the Conservative party now and I think it has clearly shown Cameron for what he is; an idiot, devoted to Left ideology. This is not the time for such pathetic politics, with people like Cameron seeking important jobs, like party leader, PM to bolster their ego.

At times of crisis a country needs clear, decisive leadership, men of ideas and with a clarity of purpose all designed to bring about the best result for the country as a whole. Instead of visionaries we get the boy band Cameron, Clegg and Miliband.

There used to be a saying that you wouldn't trust someone to look after your kids, which being from more trustworthy days meant that most people wouldn't harm your kids but some people were too stupid. Cameron has already proven he is not that good with looking after kids and I don't think we need any more evidence about trusting him with the country.

This weasel avoided a manifesto pledge to allow us a say on how we are governed and now he says we can have a vote if we re-elect him. Nice that he understands he needs to resort to blackmail; there is little chance of being re-elected on merit.

British Broadcasting Corpse

Entwhistle seems to have blown the lid off what the BBC is about. It is a structure to supply very well paid jobs to left-liberals who do not like working. Clearly, despite years in the organisation and with adequate warning that it was under close observation, Entwhistle still didn't feel obliged to pay any attention to what was going on inside the BBC. Just as he showed no interest in the Jimmy Savile news.

Now it is apparent, no one else in management actually does anything. They are not just incompetent, they actually appear not to do anything. Previously, the BBC has admitted that it has an in-built left-liberal bias, contrary to its legal obligation for impartiality and it didn't care. It had no intention of changing and no one pursued it to do so.

Then it had a secret conference to decide to formally commit to being a propaganda spout for global warming alarmism, where a scientist present said that BBC executives clearly had no understanding of the subject, had done no research and didn't care to. They still decided that they would openly support the alarmist lobby and ridicule anyone with an opposing view. Again, this breaches their Charter requirements and they again don't care.

It is clear this organisation is self absorbed and feels it has a perfect right to exist. The ludicrous Lord Patten sits atop this with the same stunning ignorance seemingly required of all at the top of the BBC. The scruffy oik should take his free, expensive lunches and find someone else to offer him a work free sinecure.

A real scandal exists of course and the left are desperately hiding it whilst raging about child abuse and scrapping around for some connection to the Tories. The fact that something in the order of 30+ Labour party members, councillors and Mayors, have been arrested on child pornography and abuse charges, doesn't seem to get much mention. Then there is the keenness of the Left to push for laws to allow paedophilia, Harriet Harman of course, having been the legal representative of a key organisation with such an interest.

Are they actually against Savile and his like then, or is their outrage confected?

Bill Of Rights Fiasco

The rumpus over a committee looking into a Bill of Rights to take precedence over the European Court of Human Rights has been a farce from start to finish. Firstly, if we don't like what the ECHR is doing, then we should ignore it, simple as that.

Secondly the recent events have been useful in flushing out some nasties who would rather stay hidden. The people who slowly but surely, in secret seek to remove your civil liberties and turn the UK into a Stalinist police state have been exposed.

These people come up with the 'save a murderer' campaigns and are always frightfully upset that you should be allowed to criticise them, so they make that illegal. Hate crimes etc. Your life is immeasurably worse because of these people and don't think they are just misguided. People who do their work in secret are not unaware of the damage they intend. They are just careful none of it affects them.

Nothing good can come of it and unless we have some kind of benign revolution, a decent set of politicians turn up or some such, then the only response to the constant attacks on ordinary people will be violence. The Left have already engendered a distinct distrust of the police and put placemen in the senior roles, now all the police have to do is realise they rely on the politicians and the perfect mix exists for the police state the Left desire. For evil to flourish it only requires that a good man does nothing.

The News Today

Wow, some infuriating telly today! What is it about the left that they feel it their right to shout the odds all the time? People who are natural conservatives, the real, famed centre ground, stage a massive, but quiet protest to such extent that the socialist government of the day have to set the police on them, without awaiting provocation. Yet the left riot and shout. Blair was confronted by a woman, an actual member of the public who felt let down by his running of the NHS, but today a politically active leftie shouts at the Health Secretary because she has an opposing political view! And the BBC just refer to her as a 'pensioner'.

Substance versus ideology, as ever. Then we have the BBC news saying that there is going to be a massive shake up in border controls. No there isn't, we are just planning on actually having some. Chunky Cooper stands up in the House and witters on that the Home Secretary is blaming the Borders managers and this is disgraceful. Not sure why. Anyway, just because it was their fault apparently, theirs and the Labour government that first suggested not really bothering with any controls.

For at least ten years Labour blamed 'the previous administration' for everything that went wrong. Within a year of the Coalition coming in Labour felt that their greatest achievement, the massive overspend of public sector employment and other unfunded projects, unchecked immigration, run down of the armed services, moral destruction of the NHS, dumbing down of education (and all the rest), were nothing to do with Labour and it was outrageous how the Conservatives could allow these things to go on.

Almost as cheeky as Brown being so annoyed about being dumped as PM (despite feeling, personally that he had done strikingly well), that he refused to do any work at all. But could we keep paying him.

Disparate Ideas

Isn't it odd how adherents to Left ideology (so that includes David Cameron) can hold views that are completely unaffected by facts and reality? Take wind farms. They produce very little electricity and even then at unpredictable times, so there always has to be a back up power station running to make up the shortfall. This makes them entirely pointless. However, politicians continue to funnel wheelbarrow loads of our cash to the people who build and operate these behemoths.

That the money goes, yet again, mainly to foreigners only makes things worse. They use exotic and dangerous metals in their generators, mined in Canada, shipped to China where workers are poisoned in the manufacturing process. Then shipped to the UK, to be erected in massive quantities of concrete. Being useless of course, they are not a commercial proposition, but instead rely on forced payment in the form of subsidies and feed in tariffs.

The need for any such energy generation device is of course, to combat Global Warming. Cameron and his co-religionists have come to understand that as man pumps more CO2 into the atmosphere from burning fossil fuels, so it acts as a trap for heat and the planet warms. He is happy to destroy our economy in support of his faith, which must also be why he ignores changing circumstances.

There has been no warming since 1998 and yet CO2 in the atmosphere continues to rise. This is perhaps not surprising because CO2 is only a minor 'greenhouse gas' and no one mentions that the overwhelming force in this area is water vapour. Yep, clouds. In fact, shown up as one of his most spectacular lies in his graph of CO2 and warming, Al Gore had things the wrong way round. CO2 content in the atmosphere did go up and so did the temperature, but it was temperature first then CO2 rose about 400 years later.

Something else causes global warming, just as it has before, when we didn't have NGO activists lobbying government with their junk science ideas to destroy the capitalist West. The IPCC is not a group of climate scientists at the top of their game producing peer reviewed scientific reports, it is largely activists and students, with some scientists who obtain their livelihood from the warming scare.

Why do politicians believe 'scientists' who say that an absolute truth has been found and should not be opposed or tested, when these are the basic tenets of science?

Hippies

I have just finished reading a book about the Sixties. I never knew so much was going on whilst I went about the business of scratching together an education. Well, something like anyway. There is a retained image that it was a time of peace and love and anti-war protests.

But in fact it was a whole lot more. The Hippies, representing the intellectual Left as they did, were a painful group of self-impressed, inward looking trouble makers, who thought that taking drugs improved the correctness of their views and that 'free love' referred to men doing what they liked to women.

The anti-war movement came up with the brilliant idea that they should kill people to make their point. In fact, as an age it seemed that a collective view of the Left was, that violence was the answer to pretty much everything. It certainly managed to avoid that troublesome irritant, debate. If you were right about something, you didn't need some smart-arse pointing out the flaws in your reasoning.

Of course, having failed miserably during the Sixties to derail civilised society (by which I mean people who work for a living, contribute to society and don't blow things up), they had to change their plans. Out went confrontation and in came taking up jobs in the institutions to undermine them. Hence the Left wing allegiance of academia, with the concomitant lack of rigour or desire to educate. In too, came Political Correctness to close down debate, still the hated enemy of the Left (see Global Warming).

The damage that decade did (and not least by infesting the institutions creating lasting harm) is coming out as a pustular poison now. People have allowed the brainwashing that has led us sleepwalking into the nanny state, but slowly and surely those same people are coming to realise something is wrong. State education we were told was the finest and we swallowed it. But now, with legions of 'highly qualified' children who cannot read properly and cannot add up, the penny has dropped that we have been conned.

Everywhere you look, the effects of Left wing propaganda spouted in Universities confounds manners and achievement, stops social mobility, leads to an elitist political class, incompetence across the public sector and high taxes.

People are beginning to ask 'why?' to all kinds of actions of the state and there really is no satisfactory answer. If the Left cannot find another way to again stifle debate, they may well be in real trouble.
