Obviously, the |BBC has been trying to overlook the anti-Semitism in the Labour party, taking an inordinate amount of time to even mention it, let alone anything like the full range of terrorist associations of the beloved Leader Corbyn.
Today they took an initiative of their own. Acting at the behest of lobby groups, they did a lovely puff piece for the wind power industry. A kind of Ponzi scheme, but most people would understand it as a scam.
Basically, the main highlight was the chat with three people. A University professor, a representative of the company installing the huge offshore turbines and someone from RenewableUK, the trade body. Now, the sound of them all singing from the same hymn sheet is to be expected, but rarely if ever have I seen one comment being enthusiastically nodded at by another.
We were told that offshore wind turbines are really easy to erect (done in one day - after the foundations are in place), that wind now generates 15% of our electricity and is the cheapest form of electricity generation in the UK.
BBC man accepted all of this with saying a thing, either because he knows nothing about the subject he is 'reporting' on, or because he is happy to comply with nonsense.
Offshore wind generation is the most expensive way to provide electricity. I have just checked and wind is currently supplying 1.03GW or 2.91% of our electricity and gas 48.47%. Gas of course will provide that power whenever you want it, wind farms only when the wind is in the Goldilocks zone, not too fast and not too slow. Oh, and the offshore turbines don't last anywhere near as long as predicted and no one has costed the bill for removing any wind turbines.
In fact, if we started insisting that the 'Green' industry told the truth, by using correct labels then traditional power generation would be called reliable and 'renewables', unreliable.
It is indeed an interesting blend, the Greens with their Marxist anti-capitalist agenda to get us to spend our wealth on a chimera and the greedy crony capitalists building the largely pointless wind and solar farms (that only 'farm' subsidies).
Politics, current affairs and ideas as they drift through my head. UK based personal opinion designed to feed or seed debate.

Conversations: A Politician And A Wind Farmer
P: We are going to remove subsidies on wind turbines. The technology is now established so I'm sure prices have come down. And if the turbines are all you claim them to be you should be able to make a profit.
WF: Remove the subsidies? Are you mad? It's not about making a profit, it's about making a lot of money. You'll be suggesting we should work for a living next!
P: Possibly
WF: I only set up this company because you promised to hand over wads of cash, regularly for ever. It was like printing money. Now you are talking about changing the rules!!
P: Well I realise you might make less money, but it will still be a good business surely? I mean, people always need electricity.
WF: You really don't understand do you? These bloody things are useless, they don't generate anything like the amount of power we claim. That's just to get the subsidies, make it seem like a good deal. Think of our claims as your manifesto. It's what people want to hear so you say it. You know you can't possibly deliver what you say!
P: Ah yes, I see. Perhaps there is some arrangement we could come to.

Wind Turbine Report
A report that it seems tells the truth about at least some aspects of the undesirability of wind turbines is causing some friction. Despite being bleedin' obvious and well known to those blighted by the things, Ed Davey thinks it should be a state secret that they damage lives, the environment, wildlife and property prices. They also don't really produce electricity, mainly being absent when needed most.
Everything Ed Davey believes, is wrong so naturally he doesn't want an official report backing up what everyone already knows. Gracious, we will be applying scientific method to global warming soon! That would never do! It is a faith, a religion which you must believe without proof. If we are to effectively destroy the West and its really annoying capitalism, we must spend all our money on a chimera. Or shoes.
In the old Soviet Union and today's North Korea you would be locked up, or worse, for opposing the prevailing ideology. Unfortunately for the idle souls 'protesting' in West Sussex, they have not achieved this glorious state of being here, so the violent revolution must go on. And despite what their fellow travellers will have drummed into you at school (instead of an education, or training you to think for yourself), the whole global warming thing is a story. A fairytale.
Like much else in society today, what is being pushed on you is not what they want. Homosexuals may feel supported by the cavalcade of ridiculous new laws, but the Left don't give a fig for them or their 'cause'. If they can use them to destabilise society here and destroy its bedrock, the family, then use them they shall.
Why would the Left want to dominate teaching in this country? To indoctrinate? Yes, to some degree, but mainly to ensure a nation of proles, a manufactured, ignorant 'working class' to use for the purposes of 'class struggle'. A group who are kept quiet with baubles, who do not want to and actually cannot think for themselves, a class who clamour for the protection of a 'big state'.
And so the plans of Ed Davey, in the farmhouse and walking upright, are secret and not our concern. He knows best.

What Being A Leader Means
David Cameron is the leader of the Conservative Party, even though he doesn't seem to have any alignment himself with Conservative values. But his bigger problem appears to be how his leadership is going.
Cameron came to government with a number of key issues close to his heart. He thinks it is really important that we give lots of money to foreign countries and he declared he would increase the amount sprayed overseas. He declared his love of the EU and he showed his deep seated dedication to 'green' issues by installing a small turbine on his house.
Today we hear that a minister is proposing to cut aid to a second country, because it is either unnecessary or being stolen, just like everyone except Cameron thought it would be. The EU is massively opposed in Britain (on the grounds that it has no utility, nor a single reason for existing) and is destroying itself over the Euro and trade barriers. Added to which a party exists which easily steals votes by not just calling for an independent UK, but also having other policies that make it actually the Conservative Party. But it is called UKIP.
And now we have ministers starting to point out that wind turbines are completely and utterly useless. Except that they make landowners a bit richer and foreign energy companies a lot richer. Oh and rather a lot is added to your energy bill to pay these leeches.
I think the reason that they are saying this is that the political benefits of supporting 'renewables' is drying up and they are either checking the facts themselves, or just admitting what they already knew. Of course the breakthrough will come when they also admit that 'Climate Change' alarmism is a fantasy and is driven not by science, but by lobby groups such as Greenpeace and WWF, who are merely seeking influence and money.
Being lied to by politicians is what we pretty much expect, by the Global Warming scam has been particularly pernicious and is by far the most dangerous. It is so bad it almost transcends any hint of mendacity and becomes insanity. Can we hope that reason returns within our lifetimes? Can we leave the EU and stop believing junk science at the same time?

90 Year Old More Thoughtful Than PM
The Duke of Edinburgh has told it like it is to an MD of a wind farm company and in so doing has proved that, at 90, he is more on the ball and scientifically and socially aware than our Prime Minister. Now we know that Clegg is a supporter of wind energy because his wife has been involved in the 'movement', but the PM has no such excuse. Oh yes, except that daddy in law gets about £1000 a day from subsidised wind farm operators.
The Duke said that the turbines are useless, because they don't work all the time and so need stand by power stations to cover for their shortfall. A child would see that this makes them pointless. But the government, as ever supported by vested interests (and I'll leave it to you to decide what kind of 'support' that is) apparently have no such vision. Chris Huhne of course is just an idiot.
You see, like the Lords of old, people who don't rely on an income from elsewhere, a sinecure or two from industry, tend to make unbiased judgements based on reality and common sense. Now both houses are mere sheds of placemen we have no protection whatsoever. Hence the Duke's comment being more important now than ever.
Tax, such as is demanded by the NGO's and activists leading the government by the nose, never drove innovation, but incentives do. That is why there is no real effort by industry to deal with man made pollutants and only the money seeking scammers and their inane stories of global disaster are thriving, on the stupidity of parliaments.

Chris Huhne Anyone?
Chris Huhne is the Climate Change and Energy Secretary, he is a Lib Dem and he is a little undecided as to whether he likes the media. His ambivalence towards the media is the result of the conflicting needs he has, firstly to proselytise for his Green religion and then again to avoid questions about his alleged attempt to avoid a speeding fine. It is said he got his wife to say she was driving when the camera flashed, though she has publicly stated she was not.
The police and the CPS needless to say, in such a complicated case are still, after some months, considering the evidence. Just like when Prescott was filmed assaulting a member of the public, the forces of law and order become strangely inert and confused when presented with criminal activity by a Member of Parliament, (though of course when instructed by a left wing government to arrest a Conservative MP, they were straight in, despite no evidence and ignoring rules themselves).
Huhne though has told some rather more important and damaging lies. These are related to the Climate Change bit of his job role, he is a little hazy about what the Energy bit means. He thinks windmills will save the planet. That is pretty much it. Also that they magically appear if he summons them. Instead, they actually use rather a lot of energy to produce and install.
Once in they ruin the landscape, kill birds and bats and the noise of the blades is also an irritant to people and animals nearby. And then there is the energy deficit. Apart from some nasty metals, dragged around the world to produce the magnets in a turbine, and overlooking the energy involved in getting the materials for construction to the areas of natural beauty that Chris Huhne particularly likes to despoil for his projects, we have the foundation materials.
According to a US paper of 2004 (Brookhaven National Laboratory), a 1.3MW onshore wind turbine needs about 240 cubic metres of concrete (108 tonnes) for its foundation and about ten tonnes of steel. Both are energy intensive products to manufacture, the steel here producing something like 5 tonnes of CO2. Concrete generates 1 tonne of CO2 for each tonne of material, giving 108 tonnes of CO2. So this one turbine has a deficit, before a blade turns of something like 113 tonnes of CO2. Cement production is responsible, apparently for 8% of all CO2 produced by Man.
To put that in perspective, (and to show a fairness that AGW religionists will not) a single 747 flying from London to New York will emit something like 52 tonnes of CO2 by my reckoning. And the trails they leave act like clouds, so have a real and immediate effect, unlike the guesswork on 'greenhouse gases' by the 'experts'.
But back to windmills. Huhne believes they will meet our target commitment to the EU on using renewables. Maybe they will (if we were building at a rate that no one can manage and we aren't even attempting), but they won't achieve any CO2 target. For each of these ridiculous and pointless towers produces risible amounts of electricity and then only intermittently. So there must be a power station, of more conventional means, running all the time waiting to take over when the wind drops (or gets too high, or we don't need the extra electricity).
This alone renders the windmill pointless. The industry knows this as do government, which is why subsidies were introduced to build them and the power companies are forced to buy the expensive electricity they produce (or compensate them when they don't buy due to a lack of demand). It is a licence to print money and nothing else. You have been scammed and the rise in electricity bills is almost entirely due to windmills and Huhne's policy (most of the rest is due to the lack of control over energy companies, by, er Chris Huhne).
So, is Chris Huhne the stupidest person in this country?
