No Leadership Crisis

Well the scaredy cat politics of the current age comes home to roost. No leader of any party will say or do anything definite as this gives something to measure them against and allows a target for the others to attack.

So they are all more or less happy to say pretty much the same things, whilst rubber stamping EU diktats. Obviously evil does well when a good man does nothing so the Marxist project rolls on.

Curiously, the son of a rampant Marxist hopeful of carrying on the dream, is hiding in the middle ground Labour party. This party of amnesiacs are currently trying to convince the electorate, that all the problems they caused under Blair and Brown are somehow the Tories fault and another Labour government would get us back on track.

Now, if you are paid by the state, whether to ostensibly do a job of some kind, or not bother at all, then of course you can be tempted to vote for Labour (unless you actually believe in putting the welfare of others somewhere in your priorities). But otherwise, I cannot see any appeal.

You can have the reality denying idiots like Burnham and Balls back to once more wreck social mobility and the economy generally, led by Miliband who feels that the previous Labour administration failed to take us back to the 70's. And he is confident that his level of stupidity can finally get us there.

Cameron is an altogether simpler animal, in every way. He likes the idea of being the latest incarnation of Tony Blair. He falls for every fad, whether anti-capitalist projects like the Global Warming scam or the Marxist EU. The fact that clearly, from every poll the country is crying out for traditional conservative values and leadership (for proof combine Tory and UKIP polling) evades him completely.

Of course, to adopt that change of direction he would have to do something definite and, being like Blair fundamentally a coward, he will do no such thing. Just enough to survive should do. And like all of his colleagues in the bubble, the needs of the country are irrelevant to their 'politics'.

The Lib Dems. Do they still exist? Representing the loony extreme of the Labour party they are merely a deflating balloon. As long a Miriam (an amalgam of Tony and Cherie) can secure sinecures all is well, the rest is flim flam. But it is curious she attached herself to such an obvious loser.

UKIP? Well they're not really a party are they? They were just supposed to be a thorn in the side of indolent conservatives. A corrective to get the would-fit-well-in-the-Labour Party Dave back on track. But the voters seem to have underestimated how dense he is. Pity really, because previously we have always been able to rely on the Conservatives to get us out of the mess left by Labour.

It's going to get colder before it gets warmer.

Elections

Today, in mock signatures we put an 'X' in a box and then put our folded, hidden answers in a box. In the Polling station I attended this morning, the distant observer, with an idea of the order of the candidates would have no problem knowing who you voted for. Obscured the non-booths most surely were not. There are legal requirements around the running of elections, but in today's world of bureaucracies and politics, who 'in authority' need feel constrained by law?

But who will these people, trekking in rain to 'have their say' vote for? This left over of times when the liberty of the individual and the the sanctity of the Englishman in his freedom, is strangely at odds with the rest of our experience. Enormous effort is made to coerce us to vote according the the whims of those who know best, with the BBC and a chorus of other media outlets not just singing the praises of half-wits, but also screaming abuse at the usurper.

You see politics has settled into a cosy career, where as a politician you pretty much don't do anything, but strut around in the certainty of your importance and seek ways to enrich yourself. It is difficult to get caught out on anything of substance because you will espouse no policies, your party will contain no great thinkers. Ironically it will be stupendously easy to catch you on detail, as you won't have the faintest idea about your 'brief'.

Then up pops a party who generally have a list of policies that are supported by a very large section of the community (and certainly the forgotten class; the wage earning British person). I speak of course of UKIP. Now UKIP are seen as being like a bad smell to the career political elite, like the mediaeval poor who offended the rich by their very presence. UKIP don't have the manners of the Westminster bubble, donchaknow?

The politicians, to continue their work avoidance suggest that the attitudes of the people (the hoi polloi) is evidence of a need for education. The poor lambs don't understand in the way the elite does, so it either needs to be explained to them until they are compliant or the option to have a say be removed. They are such a hindrance to progress!

The idea that the elite might be wrong, in error, not just doesn't occur to them, the mere thought would fill them with horror. It could never be so, they would aver, because they know best and always have your best interests at heart (like when Blair increased his police escort and required traffic lights to change in his favour, it was for you. When an MP makes a fortune selling a second home you paid the mortgage on, it is for you).

So, UKIP have attracted ire from all across the spectrum of political entrenchment. They are racist, they will destroy Britain, they will cause riots on the streets (rivers of blood anyone?). None of it is true and the vitriol is extreme and so severe that you just know the fate of Britain or your welfare is not behind it. In fact you are being attacked just as strongly, because so many it seems will vote UKIP.

This is because we have been misled, they say. No it isn't. We have been misled on many things from the NHS to the police, from taxation to the Global Warming scam. But UKIP have one very useful talent; they scare these complacent, money wasting parasites to death.

UKIP

What to say about the former 'mainstream' parties? Where to start? Calling them names seems to have worked a treat, as did trying to smear UKIP candidates. It merely showed that a win over UKIP on policies was not considered likely.

I think the most obvious problem was highlighted on QT last night. Whilst the politicians on the panel were very careful indeed to sound moderate in their views of UKIP and the predicted swing of votes to them in local elections, they were still missing the point.

All of these politicians spoke of a protest vote and that they must listen to the people more and their concerns. The old 'reconnect' cant. Essentially people inside the bubble think that voters are pretty thick. But I feel that if the general public use local elections, where the voting is less important, to warn national politicians, that it shows the general public to be quite bright.

Anyway, the real problem is, that the panel didn't mean they wanted to address people's concerns, they meant they needed to find a way to gather their votes. There was and is no interest in doing the right thing, just getting into power.

No longer a single policy party, UKIP have latched onto the things that actually matter in this country; immigration, crime, the EU and the climate change scam. Labour and the Conservatives are either supporters of all the preceding list or don't care either way. As ever the Lib Dems are just the slightly batty relation sitting in the corner muttering incredible things.

Actually, the reason the Lib Dems have done so badly is not just they let their supporters down, but that their ideas of what constitutes a policy, long ridiculed have now been thrust into the spotlight as they share power. Something they never envisaged as they thought up strange things to say.

What the politicians need to realise is that it is they, not us who have disengaged from politics. When you let the technocrats of the EU run the country and you just talk amongst yourselves within a bubble,   it should come as no surprise that you lose all credibility.

Refusing to talk about the EU does not make you a world class statesman. Saying that you are a true believer in an obvious scam, to form the 'greenest government ever', just makes you stupid.

UKIP shouldn't ever have presented a threat to anyone. That it does shows how totally useless our 'main' politicians are, how corrupt the party system and how careless politics has become. The 'stupid' man in the street realises what has happened, but will the 'clever' politicians catch up any time soon?

How Thick Is David Cameron?

David Cameron is aware that most people in Britain want out of the EU, but he keeps promising to 'renegotiate' our deal with them, knowing he can't and that we have heard all this before from Blair. He goes on about Green issues despite a) all the evidence that it is a scam becoming more and more commonly known and b) that it is responsible for severe distress to the poor and old, due to the increases in energy prices to pay the get-rich-quick 'renewables' industry.

He supports homosexual issues that were in no-ones manifesto and are immensely unimportant at best, ahead of economic recovery policies. And today he is insulting UKIP even though the number likely to vote for them keeps growing (probably every time he berates them). UKIP of course are irrelevant he claims, but just seem to have policies that chime with most people and are traditional values of Conservatives.

Or is Cameron really more rattled by the on-going stories of the money Blair is raking in, touring the world's despots and bankers seeking advantage. Mandelson might still be the king of unprincipled snakes, but he has stuck more closely to politics and influence. Blair is better at getting money. His wife must be delighted. Socialists all. Don't worry David, you are fully on track to take on the Blair fatuous money making when your party and the country bore of you.

*In the interest of balance, I should point out that Cameron is not as bad as Clegg. And Clegg also has a wife who makes money out of policies he espouses, just like Cherie used to insist. Cameron is a little lacking in that respect.

What Being A Leader Means

David Cameron is the leader of the Conservative Party, even though he doesn't seem to have any alignment himself with Conservative values. But his bigger problem appears to be how his leadership is going.

Cameron came to government with a number of key issues close to his heart. He thinks it is really important that we give lots of money to foreign countries and he declared he would increase the amount sprayed overseas. He declared his love of the EU and he showed his deep seated dedication to 'green' issues by installing a small turbine on his house.

Today we hear that a minister is proposing to cut aid to a second country, because it is either unnecessary or being stolen, just like everyone except Cameron thought it would be. The EU is massively opposed in Britain (on the grounds that it has no utility, nor a single reason for existing) and is destroying itself over the Euro and trade barriers. Added to which a party exists which easily steals votes by not just calling for an independent UK, but also having other policies that make it actually the Conservative Party. But it is called UKIP.

And now we have ministers starting to point out that wind turbines are completely and utterly useless. Except that they make landowners a bit richer and foreign energy companies a lot richer. Oh and rather a lot is added to your energy bill to pay these leeches.

I think the reason that they are saying this is that the political benefits of supporting 'renewables' is drying up and they are either checking the facts themselves, or just admitting what they already knew. Of course the breakthrough will come when they also admit that 'Climate Change' alarmism is a fantasy and is driven not by science, but by lobby groups such as Greenpeace and WWF, who are merely seeking influence and money.

Being lied to by politicians is what we pretty much expect, by the Global Warming scam has been particularly pernicious and is by far the most dangerous. It is so bad it almost transcends any hint of mendacity and becomes insanity. Can we hope that reason returns within our lifetimes? Can we leave the EU and stop believing junk science at the same time?
